WeDo_Technologies_Welcome_WWUGI first attended the WWUG in 2012 when Turkcell had just begun to use WeDo Technologies’ RAID tool and was asked to present at the event. What was so great about the experience was that I not only had the opportunity to speak about the Revenue Assurance challenges we were facing at the time and our experience of working with WeDo Technologies, but also to gain advice from other customer attendees about how we could make RAID work even better for us. It is this sharing culture which has kept me coming back ever since.

I have attended many different Revenue Assurance and Fraud conferences around the world but I have to say that the WWUG is definitely the best I have been to. The event agenda and speaker programme are very well managed – last year Zeinal Bava from Portugal Telecom was an excellent keynote speaker. His presence demonstrated WeDo’s standing within the telecoms industry and has really raised the bar high for the event in May. Having the chance to see and interact with new product demos is also useful and encourages attendees to think about what might be worth investing in down the line – this year I’m eager to learn more about WeDo Technologies’ new RAID:FMS 7 software set for example.

But what has been most beneficial for me at each event has been the opportunity to hear from and speak to WeDo Technologies customers from all around the world and share information about our individual experiences on an informal level and in a relaxed environment – both during the presentations and from a networking perspective. The WWUG is by no means a sales pitch but is instead an occasion to understand how my peers are dealing with different challenges and which new areas of their business they are keen to manage and control.

The WWUG has a great balance between formal and extra-curricular activities – it’s great to fly to Portugal on business but also have the opportunity to relax, network and get to know new contacts both personally and professionally. And the event being held each year in a different Portuguese city is a nice touch – you learn more about the country and its culture every time. The evening dinners always take place in beautiful venues with a relaxed feel so we can get to know the other people around the table better – it’s these personal, friendly touches which elevate the event above others.

This year, I’m looking forward to seeing more high profile industry figures present. I am also hoping to hear more about experiences with M2M as it is one of the fastest growing services in Turkcell as well as Big Data which will be a key focus in the near future. Our Revenue Assurance and Fraud Management departments have also very recently merged to form one unified team, so I'm keen to learn more about how other operators who have made this structural change have managed it and ensured their teams work together effectively.  I’m sure I’ll receive all of this and so much more at this year’s WWUG – hope to see you there!
