The WeDo Technologies team had great pleasure in hosting over 85 customers, prospects, partners, friends and media to our WeMeet Asia user group, held in Kuala Lumpur last week. It highlighted just how much we all have in common when fighting fraud and assuring our businesses. Even when we stand in competitive grounds.
Speakers from Amazon Web Services, Orange Group, Vodafone Qatar, Digi Malaysia, KT Corporation, Unitel, shared their experiences with an eager and dynamic audience. The theme of the event was ‘Rethinking Connections’ and when we started discussing the challenges of 5G and the billions of IoT devices that will be connected to networks it highlighted the need to ‘rethink’ what will have to be done in order to manage all associated risk.
Risk management, covered by a number of speakers, is taking pride of place in the operator’s arsenal.
Many of the revenue assurance and fraud experts present felt that mitigating risks associated with 5G had been overlooked by management in the rush to roll out new technologies and services.
Learning from and sharing concerns with their industry colleagues brought some comfort but also highlighted the challenges ahead.
Many of the attendees returned to their operations armed not only with new-found knowledge but also access to the tools and technology that will help them increase awareness amongst managers and stake holders to ‘know the unknown’.Presentations also included shared knowledge on SIP Fraud, optimizing revenues through distributed edge cloud, using AI to help fight subscription fraud, amongst others.
